CM Revanth to Launch Loan Waiver Phase 3

Telangana News: CM Revanth to Launch Third Phase of Crop Loan Waiver Program

Hyderabad: On August 15, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will officially launch the third phase of Telangana’s crop loan waiver program, which will cover loans up to Rs 2 lakh. The event will take place in Wyra, Khammam district. In addition to the loan waiver launch, Chief Minister Reddy will also inaugurate the Sitarama project in the same district.

Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao addressed the media at the Secretariat on Tuesday, providing updates on the loan waiver program. He acknowledged that technical issues had prevented the disbursement of funds to approximately 30,000 farmers’ accounts. However, he assured that these issues would be resolved promptly, and all eligible farmers would receive their due benefits as soon as possible.

Minister Rao expressed frustration with BRS and BJP leaders who have criticized the loan waiver process, accusing them of undermining the state government’s efforts despite the program still being underway. He emphasized that the loan waiver is intended for farmers who meet the cutoff date criteria established by the government.

Rao also criticized the previous BRS government for its handling of the loan waiver process, alleging that it was inadequately managed. He claimed that before the Assembly elections, the BRS government had attempted to address the issue by selling the Outer Ring Road (ORR) for Rs 7,000 crores.

Regarding the Rythu Bharosa scheme, Minister  Rao revealed that the  state government is still gathering feedback from stakeholders and finalizing the guidelines for   the program. The preparation process is ongoing, and details will be announced once the guidelines are completed.
