Hyderabad Faces 24-Hour Water Supply Disruption
No Drinking Water Supply for 24 Hours in Many Areas of Hyderabad
Hyderabad is set to experience a 24-hour disruption in drinking water supply due to a scheduled power outage.
Details of the Disruption
- Duration: The water supply disruption will begin at 7 am on July 4 and last for 24 hours.
- Cause: The power outage is due to repair work at the Peddapur and Kandi substations.
Affected Areas
- Complete Disruption: The areas affected by the complete disruption include those served by the Lingampally, Borabanda, and Shaikpet reservoirs, as well as Manikonda, Narsingi, Manchirevula, and Moosapet.
- Low Water Pressure: Expect low water pressure in Erragadda, Jubilee Hills, Somajiguda, KPHB, Hydernagar, and surrounding areas.
Recent Disruptions
- June 26 and 27: Several areas faced disruptions due to urgent repairs on the NRV valve of the second pump at the Kondapur pump house, part of the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Scheme Phase-II.
- Early June: Maintenance work on a 900 mm diameter pipeline junction affected the drinking water supply to Patancheru, RC Puram, Ashok Nagar, Jyothi Nagar, Lingampally, Chandanagar, Gangaram, Madinaguda, Hafeezpet, Doyens Colony, SBI Training Centre, BHEL Factory/Township, HCU, and Patancheru Industrial Area.
This upcoming disruption on July 4 will be the first drinking water supply interruption in Hyderabad for the current month.
