Over 60 Students in Hyderabad Schools, Colleges Apprehended for Drug Use

The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) has intensified its efforts to make Hyderabad a drug-free city by conducting extensive raids in various schools and colleges. These raids have led to the apprehension of over 60 individuals from institutions including Symbiosis College, Osmania General Hospital, Guru Nanak Engineering College, and Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), among others.

TGANB Director Sandeep Shandilya announced that officers have been mobilized to gather and act on intelligence regarding drug use in educational settings. In collaboration with the state government, the bureau has launched awareness campaigns aimed at both students and parents to combat this growing issue.

Shandilya also noted that cases are being filed against establishments selling tobacco products within a 100-meter radius of schools under the Juvenile Justice Act and the COPTA Act.
