Indian Expat Wins dollar 1 Million
A Dubai-based Indian expatriate woman, Vidhi Gurnani, has won a staggering one million dollars (Rs 8,37,09,550) in the Dubai Duty-Free (DDF) Millennium Millionaire draw on Wednesday, July 24. Gurnani became the latest winner in the Millennium Millionaire Series 468 with ticket number 4760, which she purchased on Tuesday, July 9, while traveling from Dubai to Mumbai. This remarkable win makes Gurnani the 233rd Indian to become a millionaire through this draw since its inception in 1999.
Joining Gurnani in the ranks of recent million-dollar winners is Saeed Mohamad Yousuf, a 47-year-old Emirati national from Dubai. Yousuf purchased his winning ticket on Wednesday, July 17, while en route to Casablanca, Morocco. Expressing his gratitude, Yousuf said, “Thanks a lot Dubai Duty-Free for this really amazing news.” He is the 15th Emirati national to win in the Millennium Millionaire promotion since it started in 1999.
In addition to these major winners, there were other exciting prizes awarded in the DDF draws. Magesh Prabhakaran, a 48-year-old Indian national living in Dubai, won a BMW S 1000 R motorbike (Bluestone Metallic) with ticket number 0872 in the Finest Surprise Series 589. Prabhakaran, who has been a resident of the UAE for the past 18 years and works as a senior technician for DP World, expressed his joy, saying, “I’m very happy with this win, thank you so much Dubai Duty-Free!”
Another lucky winner was Hameed Ammacheetuvalappil, a 53-year-old Indian national also based in Dubai. Hameed won a BMW R 1250 GS Adventure (Trophy Edition) motorbike with ticket number 0013 in the Finest Surprise Series 590. A long-time resident of Dubai for the past 33 years, Hameed works as a Public Relations Officer for Jansons Medical Centre and is a father of three. Overjoyed with his win, he remarked, “I’ve been trying for a long time to win and finally it happened. Thank you Dubai Duty-Free.”
