KTR’s Brother-in-Law Booked for NDPS Violation

Raids at Farmhouse Lead to NDPS Charges
Hyderabad: Raj Pakala, brother-in-law of KT Rama Rao (KTR), has been named the prime accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act following a raid at his farmhouse in Mokila. Initially facing charges for excise violations, Pakala’s situation escalated after the police uncovered unauthorized foreign liquor and drugs during a party at his farmhouse. The raid, which took place on October 26, was based on credible information received by the Mokila police about illegal activities at the venue.

Coordinated Raid by Multiple Agencies
Upon receiving the tip-off, the Mokila police, supported by the Narsingi police, the Special Operations Team (SOT), and excise officials, swiftly conducted a raid at Pakala’s farmhouse early on Sunday morning. They encountered a gathering of 22 men and 16 women, some of whom attempted to flee but were detained by the authorities. The police and other officials carried out thorough checks, leading to the discovery of unauthorized liquor and drug use among the attendees.

Drug Tests and Arrests at the Party
During the raid, drug tests were administered to the party attendees to verify the presence of illegal substances. Among those tested, Vijay Madduri, CEO of Fusion AIX Software and a known associate of Raj Pakala, tested positive for cocaine. Madduri allegedly revealed that Pakala had invited him to the party and encouraged the use of drugs. This statement further implicated Pakala in the illegal activities, solidifying his status as the primary accused under the NDPS Act.

Items Seized During the Raid
The raid at the farmhouse also uncovered various items related to gambling and the consumption of alcohol. Authorities seized poker coins, playing cards, and three aluminum briefcases filled with poker paraphernalia. Additionally, 17 bottles of unauthorized foreign liquor were confiscated by the excise department. These findings led to the filing of a case against Pakala and further investigations are currently ongoing to determine the full extent of the violations.

BRS Alleges Political Conspiracy
In response to the developments, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party came out in support of their working president, KTR, and condemned the allegations against Raj Pakala. The party leaders, including several MLAs, accused Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of attempting to implicate KTR in a false case. They claimed that the event at Pakala’s farmhouse was a private gathering for family members and not the illicit party as portrayed.

Political Allegations of Diversion Tactics
BRS leaders argued that the accusations were part of a larger political strategy aimed at diverting public attention from the government’s failure to deliver on its poll promises. They suggested that the focus on Pakala’s case was a deliberate attempt to distract from other pressing issues. The BRS maintained that their leaders would stand firm against what they perceived as an unfair targeting of KTR and his family members.

Arrests of BRS MLAs Following Allegations
The controversy surrounding Raj Pakala’s case saw further developments with the arrest of several BRS leaders. Quthbullapur MLA KP Vivekanand Goud, Korutla MLA K Sanjay Kumar, party spokesperson Krishank, and former MLA Balka Suman were among those detained by the city police on Sunday. The arrests took place after they gathered at KTR’s residence to show their solidarity with him amidst the unfolding events.

Investigations Continue as Allegations Persist
With a case filed under the NDPS Act and further investigations underway, the incident involving Raj Pakala has drawn significant attention. While the police focus on uncovering the full details of the activities at the farmhouse, the BRS continues to contest the narrative, viewing the situation as an attempt to discredit their leadership. The ongoing investigations are likely to shed more light on the events, making it a matter of public and political interest in the state.
