Noida Schools Closed for Kanwar Yatra

Noida Schools to Remain Closed from July 31 to August 2 Due to Kanwar Yatra

In light of the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, the Gautam Buddha Nagar district administration has announced the closure of all schools, both public and private, for students from classes 1 to 12 from July 31 to August 2. This decision is aimed at ensuring the safety and convenience of students and staff during the annual pilgrimage, which sees a large influx of devotees.

Earlier today, the Ghaziabad administration issued a similar directive, extending school holidays until August 2. This applies to all public and private schools in the district. The schools have been instructed to comply strictly with the order.

The Kanwar Yatra, which commenced on July 22, will continue until August 6. The pilgrimage involves devotees, known as Kanwariyas, traveling to collect holy water from the Ganges River and carrying it back to their local Shiva temples. Due to the significant number of participants, the NH-58 Dehradun-Delhi highway has been completely closed until August 2, with both sides of the highway reserved for the Kanwariyas.

To manage regular traffic, police forces in both Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have implemented diversion plans. From today, all vehicles traveling on the Dehradun-Delhi highway will be required to follow these diversion routes. The measures are designed to facilitate the safe passage of the Kanwariyas while minimizing disruption for other road users.

Several other districts have also announced school closures due to the Kanwar Yatra, including Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Meerut, Hapur, and Haridwar in Uttarakhand. Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, and Meerut had already declared holidays on July 26.

The decision to close schools in these regions comes in response to the anticipated influx of around 1.25 crore Kanwariyas from Haridwar and other ghats. The large number of devotees traveling through these areas necessitates stringent measures to ensure public safety and order.

In addition to school closures, authorities have emphasized the importance of traffic management during this period. Diversion plans have been put in place to handle the increased traffic volume and to prevent congestion on major routes. The police forces in both states are working together to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of all travelers.

The Kanwar Yatra is a significant religious event in northern India, drawing millions of devotees each year. The closures and traffic diversions are part of a coordinated effort by various district administrations to manage the logistical challenges posed by the pilgrimage.

Parents and students in the affected districts are advised to stay informed about the latest updates and to follow the instructions provided by school authorities. The temporary closure of schools is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of students during this busy period.

As the Kanwar Yatra progresses, authorities will continue to monitor the situation and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage. The cooperation of the public is crucial in implementing these measures effectively and ensuring that the Kanwariyas can complete their journey safely.

In conclusion, the closure of schools in Noida and other districts is a necessary step to accommodate the large number of Kanwariyas participating in the Kanwar Yatra. The efforts of the district administrations and police forces in managing traffic and ensuring public safety are commendable, and the public’s understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated
