Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made a significant visit to Apple Inc.’s headquarters at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, on August 9. This visit, part of a larger strategic tour, underscores Reddy’s commitment to positioning Hyderabad and Telangana as prime destinations for global investments. The sprawling 175-acre Apple campus, known for its cutting-edge design and environmental sustainability, served as the perfect venue for Reddy’s pitch to one of the world’s most influential technology companies.

Accompanied by IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and a team of senior officials, Revanth Reddy highlighted Telangana’s ongoing and future initiatives aimed at fostering technological innovation and economic growth. The discussions were centered around several ambitious projects, including the establishment of a new Electronics Park, a Skills University, an AI City, and a Future City. These initiatives are designed to attract global companies by creating an ecosystem conducive to technological advancements, skill development, and sustainable economic expansion.

During his discussions with Apple executives, Reddy emphasized how these projects align with Apple’s long-term goals in manufacturing, public policy, and healthcare. The Chief Minister expressed his optimism about the potential outcomes of these discussions, believing that they could pave the way for meaningful collaborations between Apple and the state of Telangana.

In a social media post on X (formerly Twitter), the Telangana CMO shared Reddy’s sentiments: “Exhilarating to visit Apple Park, the corporate headquarters of Apple Inc., at Cupertino, California. The 175-acre campus was the ideal place to make a strong pitch for #Hyderabad and #Telangana as a leading investment destination in several sectors. My team, including my minister colleague @OffDSB, and senior officials, and I, highlighted the new Electronics park, Skills University, AI city, Future City and other game changing initiatives to the senior Apple Executives looking after manufacturing, public policy and Apple healthcare divisions. Confident that our highly encouraging and cordial talks today will lead to several positive outcomes for Hyderabad and Telangana.”

This visit to Apple Park is just one highlight of Revanth Reddy’s ambitious 12-day tour of the United States, which began on August 5. The tour is strategically aimed at attracting significant investments to Telangana, with Reddy meeting with key stakeholders and leaders from various multinational companies across multiple sectors. This marks Reddy’s second international tour since taking office in December 2023, following a successful trip to Davos earlier in the year, where he secured investments worth Rs 42,000 crore.

The Chief Minister’s itinerary has been packed with high-level meetings. In New York, he met with the CEO of Cognizant, resulting in an expansion agreement that will see the IT services giant establishing a new facility in Hyderabad. This facility, covering over one million square feet, is expected to create more than 15,000 new jobs, further boosting the region’s IT sector.

Reddy also engaged in productive discussions with senior leadership from other major corporations, including Cigna, Arcesium, Corning, Zoetis, and Rapid7. These meetings focused on potential collaborations that could lead to substantial investments in Telangana’s IT and healthcare sectors. Notably, a meeting with executives from PepsiCo and HCA Healthcare on August 6 led to promising opportunities in food processing and healthcare services, with HCA Healthcare committing to explore partnerships in healthcare infrastructure development in Telangana.

In Washington D.C., Reddy’s discussions with the World Bank President centered on skill development initiatives. The talks explored potential collaborations that could enhance educational and vocational training programs in Telangana, a move expected to significantly bolster the state’s workforce development efforts.

Further meetings in Texas with representatives from Charles Schwab and American Airlines aimed to explore investment opportunities in the financial services and aviation sectors. The discussions also included the possibility of American Airlines expanding its operations in Hyderabad, adding another potential success to Reddy’s U.S. tour.

Through these strategic engagements, Revanth Reddy is making a concerted effort to secure the future of Telangana, ensuring that the state remains at the forefront of technological and economic advancements.
