Deadline Extended: Traffic Challan Payment with Discount Available Until January 31st
State Earns Rs. 113 Crore in Penalties: So far, the state has accumulated Rs. 113 crore in penalties from traffic challans. The government’s commitment to providing relief to citizens led to the announcement of a one-time discount on challans, a promise from the election manifesto.
Extension Till January 31, 2024: The State police, in alignment with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s directives, has extended the deadline for clearing pending traffic challans with discounted rates. The initial period, from December 27 to January 10, has now been extended to January 31, 2024.
Response to Covid Challenges: The extension takes into account the overwhelming response, massive rush, and the economic hardships faced by the public due to the ongoing Covid pandemic over the last two years.
Discounted Compounding Fee: In accordance with G.O. Rt. No. 652 issued on December 26, 2023, the government declared a waiver of 80% of the fine amount for 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler vehicles, 90% for TSRTC buses, and 60% for LMV/HMV vehicles on pending e-challans under the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
