Srinagar: In a tragic incident on Sunday, at least three labourers lost their lives and four others, including locals, sustained injuries during a terrorist attack on a labourers’ camp in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the Ganderbal terrorist attack, calling it a “dastardly and cowardly” act. In a statement posted on his social media platform X, he expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives. “Very sad news of a dastardly & cowardly attack on non-local labourers at Gagangir in the Sonamarg region. These people were working on a key infrastructure project in the area. 2 have been killed & 2-3 more have been injured in this militant attack. I strongly condemn this attack on unarmed innocent people & send my condolences to their loved ones,” he said.
In a follow-up message, the Chief Minister highlighted that the casualty figures could change as many injured individuals, both local and non-local, are receiving treatment. He added, “Praying that the injured make a full recovery as the more seriously injured are being referred to SKIMS, Srinagar.”
Increased Terror Activity in Kashmir Valley
