Hyderabad 1 Dead as Tree Falls on Shamsheergunj Main Road
Hyderabad: A tragic incident occurred on Monday afternoon, July 22, when a large tree uprooted and fell on the Shamsheergunj New Road, resulting in one fatality and injuring at least four others. The fallen tree also caused significant damage to an auto rickshaw, four scooters, and a small kiosk.
The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Mohd Saleh, a resident of Chandulal Baradari. The incident happened around 2 pm on the busy Shamsheergunj to Kalapather road, leading to panic in the locality.
Local shopkeepers who witnessed the incident quickly rushed to rescue those trapped under the tree, pulling them out and helping to transport two injured individuals to the hospital for treatment.
Upon being informed, the Shahalibanda police and Falaknuma traffic police arrived at the scene and notified the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The Disaster Response Force (DRF) team of the GHMC and other personnel promptly began cutting down the tree to clear the road for traffic.
