Air India and Singapore Airlines Expand Codeshare Agreement
Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have announced a significant expansion of their codeshare agreement, adding 51 new destinations to their combined network. The move aims to offer better connectivity for passengers traveling between India and Southeast Asia, with increased options for both domestic and international travel.
Increased Connectivity from October 27
Starting from October 27, 2024, Air India and SIA will codeshare on flights between Singapore and Indian cities like Bengaluru and Chennai. This expansion will increase the number of weekly scheduled codeshare services between India and Singapore to 56, a substantial rise from the current 14. The Air India Singapore Airlines codeshare aims to cater to the growing demand for travel between the two countries and offer more convenient options for travelers.
Expansion of Domestic Codeshare Routes
The enhanced agreement allows SIA to codeshare on a wide range of Air India’s domestic routes. This includes flights between Delhi and cities such as Amritsar, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Lucknow, and Varanasi. Additionally, SIA will codeshare on Air India’s routes between Mumbai and destinations like Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Goa, among others. This arrangement ensures that Air India Singapore Airlines codeshare customers have a smoother travel experience within India.
New International Destinations for Air India Customers
As part of the expanded agreement, Air India customers will have access to 29 international destinations through SIA’s network. These include major cities across Australia like Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, as well as Southeast Asian destinations such as Jakarta, Phnom Penh, and Kuala Lumpur. This expanded network ensures that Air India passengers can enjoy greater connectivity to regions like Australasia, Japan, and South Korea. The Air India Singapore Airlines codeshare enables seamless travel to destinations like Tokyo, Auckland, and more, offering customers a broader choice of travel options.
Enhanced Travel Options for Singapore Airlines Customers
Singapore Airlines customers will also benefit from the Air India Singapore Airlines codeshare, gaining access to Air India’s international services from key Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. They can connect to 12 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This includes popular travel hubs like Paris, Frankfurt, London, and Riyadh. The codeshare arrangement not only strengthens connectivity between India and Singapore but also allows Singapore Airlines passengers to explore new destinations across India and beyond.

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded agreement, stating, “We are excited to offer our guests greater connectivity to destinations across South East Asia, the Far East, and Australasia. A Step Forward in Airline Collaboration
This expansion marks the first major development in the codeshare partnership between Air India and Singapore Airlines since 2010. Both airlines aim to progressively include more destinations in their codeshare arrangements, providing passengers with a wide array of travel options. The Air India Singapore Airlines codeshare is a strategic move that not only benefits the airlines but also offers increased convenience and flexibility for passengers traveling between India, Southeast Asia, and other regions.
