Hyderabad Set to Host Cognizant’s Largest Hub Globally
Cognizant’s expansion in Hyderabad marks a significant milestone for the company. Established in Chennai in 1994, Cognizant has grown into a global IT giant. The company began its operations in Hyderabad in 2002 and now boasts five campuses in the city’s IT corridor. With the addition of the Kokapet campus, Hyderabad is poised to become Cognizant’s largest center worldwide, surpassing even its operations in Chennai.

Currently, Cognizant employs around 55,000 to 56,000 people in Chennai. However, the workforce in Hyderabad has already surpassed 57,000 employees and is growing rapidly, partly due to the city’s robust business process outsourcing (BPO) sector. This growth underscores Hyderabad’s importance as a critical hub for Cognizant’s global operations.

Cognizant’s Contribution to Telangana’s IT Sector
Over the past two years, Cognizant has played a vital role in supporting Telangana’s IT sector. The company has provided employment opportunities to 7,500 individuals from 34 different educational institutions across the state. Moreover, Cognizant’s IT exports from Telangana reached an impressive Rs 7,725 crore in the last financial year, further cementing its status as a key contributor to the state’s economy.
