Hyderabad Lok Sabha Seat
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is focusing on winning a majority of Telangana’s 17 Lok Sabha seats, with a particular aim to claim the Hyderabad Lok Sabha (LS) seat currently held by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy expressed the party’s determination to defeat Asaduddin Owaisi and secure victory in the Hyderabad parliamentary seat. He noted a positive response from the state’s people and highlighted the declining vote share of AIMIM in the recent Assembly polls, contrasting with the BJP’s increasing voting percentage.
Despite AIMIM’s stronghold on the Hyderabad LS seat, winning it for nine consecutive times since 1989, the BJP sees an opportunity for change, particularly considering the shifting political landscape.
Asaduddin Owaisi has been representing the Hyderabad constituency since 2004, succeeding Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, who held the seat from 1984 to 2004. With the 2024 general elections on the horizon, the BJP is once again mobilizing efforts to secure victory in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat.
