KTR Calls for Jantar Mantar Hunger Strike

KTR Announces Hunger Strike at Jantar Mantar to Demand Telangana Funds

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) working president and former Telangana minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Thursday declared an indefinite hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. This announcement follows a call from Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who urged the opposition BRS to join him in a ‘hunger strike unto death’ at Jantar Mantar to pressurize the Central government into allocating funds for Telangana.

“We are ready. Let KCR come and fast with us,” Revanth had challenged BRS members in the assembly, causing an uproar. In response, KTR stated that he was prepared for the protest and appealed to CM Revanth Reddy to lead his Cabinet colleagues in the hunger strike at Jantar Mantar.

“I am appealing to Chief Minister Revanth Anumula to lead his Cabinet colleagues and stage an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi until and unless the Centre allocates funds to Telangana,” KTR said in the state Assembly. He also affirmed that all BRS party MLAs would support the protest.
