Revanth Challenges KCR Assembly Debate
Telangana Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, launched a scathing attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership, accusing them of mismanagement in state irrigation projects. Reddy challenged former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, along with T Harish Rao, K T Rama Rao, and MLC K Kavitha, for a joint debate in the state Assembly and Council.
The contentious issue revolves around the state government’s decision to transfer projects on the Krishna River to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB). Reddy, accompanied by Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, aims to engage in a debate to address the allegations. Accusing KCR and Harish Rao of spreading falsehoods about the Congress government, Reddy highlighted past agreements on water sharing and project allocations.
He emphasized KCR’s alleged negligence, surrendering Telangana’s dominance in Krishna river projects to the pressure from neighboring states. Reddy claimed that the completion of the Palamuru Rangareddy project could have irrigated significant agricultural land, citing a perceived injustice during KCR’s regime.
Addressing concerns about misrepresentation in the KRMB meeting, Reddy stated that the state’s views were inaccurately presented, leading to a government clarification. Reddy vowed to issue a White Paper on the issue and accused KCR of deceiving the public following electoral defeat.
