Hyderabad Numaish Record attendence

The 83rd edition of Numaish, the All India Industrial Exhibition in Hyderabad, is set to break attendance records, with a projected 2.5 million visitors this year. Over the weekend, around 45,000 people visited the exhibition, causing large queues to form outside the gates by 4:30 pm on Sunday.

The Nampally exhibition grounds witnessed a recent surge in visitors, with vendors outside the gates selling masks, toys, and cotton candies. Inside, a diverse array of stores offered everything from clothing to cutlery, along with lip-smacking food and adrenaline-pumping amusement parks.

Security personnel attributed the unprecedented queues to Bollywood singer Javed Ali’s performance. Numaish typically draws 25,000 to 35,000 visitors on weekdays and 45,000 to 50,000 on weekends. However, this year’s footfall is expected to surpass the previous record of 2.2 million visitors, showcasing a positive trend with new entertainment programs in place.

Satyender Vanam, the All India Industrial Exhibition vice-president, highlighted the impact on education, stating that the increased attendance contributes to supporting 18 educational institutions associated with the exhibition.

On Sunday at 4:30 pm, most stores were bustling, eateries were crowded, and long queues formed in the amusement area for tickets. The debut of a young lady driver in the ‘Death of Well’ attraction, featuring new cars and stunts, added to the excitement. Security measures were tightened, and parking was full by 4:30 pm, with free arrangements provided by Hyderabad traffic police on a first-come, first-served basis.
