Sanofi to Invest euro 400 M in Hyderabad Hub
Sanofi Healthcare India Pvt. Ltd. (SHIPL) has announced a significant investment of euro 400 million to expand its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, with €100 million allocated for the upcoming years. This expansion aims to enhance the hub’s capacity, which is set to accommodate up to 2,600 employees, making it the largest among Sanofi’s four global hubs.
Established in 2019, the Hyderabad GCC has evolved from a specialized medical hub into a key global service provider, supporting Sanofi’s functions and affiliates worldwide. The centre now delivers a range of best-in-class services that contribute to the company’s global operations.
Madeleine Roach, Executive Vice President of Business Operations at Sanofi, highlighted the significance of the Hyderabad hub, stating, “This future-forward global hub is a state-of-the-art workplace designed to be environmentally sustainable while fostering diversity and inclusivity. Hyderabad is emerging as a preferred destination for shared services due to its large talent pool. We are thrilled to invest and develop this hub to become a leading global community focused on excellence, with digitalization driving our transformation.”
Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs, D Sridhar Babu, praised the investment, noting, “This substantial investment of over €400 million and the creation of more than 2,600 jobs in the next two years underscore Telangana’s commitment to creating a thriving environment for innovation and growth.”
Sanofi’s GCC hubs are crucial ‘nerve-centers’ that centralize and modernize various functions within the company. They provide essential services across commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, and digital sectors, enabling scalability and efficiency across Sanofi’s global operations.
Emmanuel Frenehard, Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer at Sanofi, expressed the company’s ambition: “We aim to be the first biopharma company to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) at scale. The Hyderabad hub will play a pivotal role in integrating AI across our value chain.
