TGPSC Group 2 Exam Deferred
Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) announced on Friday, July 19, that the Group 2 exam has been deferred following widespread protests by job aspirants. The exam, initially scheduled for August 7 and 8, will now be held in December, with specific dates to be announced later.
The decision came after Group 2 job aspirants met Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Nagarkurnool MP Dr. Mallu Ravi at the Dr. BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat. The aspirants requested the postponement, citing the overlap with the District Selection Committee (DSC) exam, which left them with only two weeks to prepare for the Group 2 exam.
In March 2024, TGPSC issued a notification for 783 Group 2 posts, originally planned for August. Responding to the aspirants’ concerns, Bhatti Vikramarka assured that a job calendar would be released soon to prevent exam overlaps. He also highlighted that 54,000 government job vacancies had been filled in the past three months. He remarked that had the recruitment process been swifter over the past decade, many families would have seen improved financial stability.
The job aspirants also mentioned that the state government was positively considering their demand to increase the number of Group 2 posts.
