Free Museum Entry Announced Today
On the occasion of International Museum Day, the Department of Heritage Telangana has announced free entry to all state-run museums on May 18, offering visitors a great opportunity to explore Telangana’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
Visitors can enjoy free entry at several prominent museums, including:
- Telangana State Archaeology Museum
- Heritage Museum Gunfoundry
- District Archaeological Museums in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, and Warangal
- Site Museums at Alampur (Jogulamba Gadwal) and Kondapur (Sangareddy district)
These museums showcase rare artifacts, sculptures, inscriptions, and historical collections representing Telangana’s legacy.
Special Event at Public
A special programme will be conducted at the State Archaeology Museum, Public Gardens, Hyderabad at 3 PM on May 18.
Highlights include:
- A special talk by Anuradha S Naik on “Museums Uniting a Divided World: Hyderabad – A Case Study”
- Release of books:
- “Paramara Inscriptions in Telangana” by E Sivanagi Reddy and P Nagaraju
- “Stucco Artifacts Displayed at Centenary Heritage Museum” by B S Rajendra Babu and P Nagaraju
- Launch of brochures for Kolanpaka and Alampur Site Museums
- Release of a “Tourist Guide in Telangana” poster
- A special exhibition on Telangana monuments
- Classical dance performance by Dhanyatha Kakani
