The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced that the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted in three distinct phases. The voting will take place on September 18, September 25, and October 1, with the counting of votes scheduled for October 4.

These elections will be the first Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. The ECI has reported that there are 87.09 lakh registered voters in the Union Territory. Of these, 44.46 lakh are male voters and 42.62 lakh are female voters. Additionally, there are 3.71 lakh first-time voters and 20.7 lakh young voters who will be participating in this electoral process.
