Sangareddy cop bribery arrest

Sangareddy: An Inspector previously suspended for multiple allegations was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 5 lakh from a realtor. Inspector M. Sai Venkata Kishore, who had been serving as the Central Crime Station Inspector in Sangareddy until his suspension last May, was caught red-handed at Mayur Marg in Miyapur.

The ACB revealed that Venkata Kishore had demanded a total bribe of Rs. 1.5 crore from realtor Merugu Ravi in exchange for releasing two sale deed documents held by the police in connection with a case. Despite his suspension, Venkata Kishore continued his illicit activities, demanding either Rs. 1.5 crore or two flats from Ravi. He had already received Rs. 5 lakh in an earlier transaction and was pushing for the remaining Rs. 1.45 crore, assuring Ravi that he would facilitate the release of the documents and remove his name from the charge sheet by leveraging his influence over colleagues.

Upon learning of the demand, Ravi approached the ACB, leading to a trap that resulted in Venkata Kishore’s arrest. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
