TGSRTC Meeting on Dasara Preparations

On September 30, 2024, TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar held a meeting with field-level officials to discuss the necessary arrangements for handling the increased travel demand during Dasara. The meeting focused on ensuring that all special bus services run smoothly and passengers are provided with a hassle-free travel experience. These TGSRTC buses will not only serve cities within Telangana but also connect to neighboring states such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.

Booking and Customer Service for Special RTC Buses

Travelers can book their seats through the TGSRTC website or contact the TGSRTC call center via phone numbers 040-69440000 or 040-23450033. By providing multiple booking options, TGSRTC special buses aim to cater to the large influx of passengers anticipated during this period.

Improved Facilities at Major Boarding Points

In an effort to enhance passenger convenience, TGSRTC has implemented  additional facilities at major boarding points such as LB Nagar, Uppal, Arangar, and Santosh Nagar. These stations will be equipped with public address systems, shamianas (temporary shelters), adequate seating arrangements, and drinking water facilities. These measures are aimed at ensuring that passengers have a comfortable wait before boarding their buses, especially during peak travel times.

Special Coordination for Toll Plazas

To ensure the smooth flow of traffic during peak travel days, TGSRTC is working closely with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to establish special lanes for RTC buses at toll plazas. This coordination is expected to expedite the travel process and reduce delays, allowing passengers to reach their destinations more quickly during the busy festival period. With the implementation of these measures, RTC special buses will have a dedicated route at critical checkpoints, improving travel efficiency.

Anticipated Rise in Dasara Travel Demand

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), VC Sajjanar mentioned that with the launch of the Mahalakshmi Scheme and the approaching Dasara festival, a significant rise in travel demand is anticipated. He further added that the busiest travel days are expected to be October 9, 10, and 11, as many people will travel to their hometowns to celebrate Dasara, which falls on October 12 this year. TGSRTC is prepared to deploy additional buses in Hyderabad to meet the increased demand during these peak days, ensuring that no passenger is left stranded.

Additional Bus Services for Dasara Festivities

Given the expected surge in passenger traffic, TGSRTC special buses will be on standby across Hyderabad to handle the overflow of travelers during the festival rush. The corporation is fully committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for its passengers during the Dasara festival. With over 5,300 buses in operation, TGSRTC is well-equipped to manage the holiday rush and ensure that everyone reaches their destination on time.
