YSRCP Fights Objectionable Online Posts
YSRCP Files Complaints Over Defamatory Posts
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders have formally filed complaints against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supporters for objectionable social media posts targeting Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, other party leaders, and their families. Complaints were lodged at Guntur’s Pattabhipuram Police Station, supported by evidence, demanding strict action against the culprits.
YSRCP district president and former minister Ambati Rambabu revealed that five formal complaints were submitted. These included posts from accounts like “Swathi Reddy,” “Ajay Chowdary–1,” and “G3 Gayathri,” as well as defamatory tweets by Nara Lokesh. Morphed images of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s wife were also highlighted, showcasing the depth of online harassment faced by YSRCP leaders.
TDP Accused of Misusing Social Media
Rambabu accused the TDP of leveraging social media to deflect attention from their governance failures. “They are offering monetary incentives to spread defamatory content. Even Speaker Ayanna Patrudu has made derogatory remarks about Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he alleged.
He criticized the state government for its inaction despite repeated complaints and questioned Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s promises of action against offensive online content. Rambabu expressed concerns over threats to his family and social media harassment, demanding immediate and unbiased police action.
YSRCP Highlights Safety Concerns in Andhra Pradesh
YSRCP MLC Varudu Kalyani raised concerns about the deteriorating safety of women in Andhra Pradesh, pointing to a shocking assault on a law student in Visakhapatnam. Speaking at a press conference, she said the incident highlighted the government’s failure to ensure women’s safety.
“The Disha app, meant to enhance women’s security, has been neglected. This administration prioritizes political vendettas over public welfare,” Kalyani stated.
Grim Statistics on Women’s Safety
Kalyani criticized the government for admitting in the Assembly that 49 crimes against women occur daily. She cited recent incidents of assaults, murders, and rapes as evidence of the worsening law and order situation. “The government is failing to take preventive measures or deliver justice to victims,” she added.
She called the assault on the law student a stark reminder of the administration’s inability to prioritize public safety.
YSRCP’s Proactive Measures for Women’s Safety
Under YSRCP’s leadership, several initiatives for women’s safety were implemented, including POCSO courts, women’s police stations, and special vehicles for immediate response. Kalyani urged the current government to restore such measures and focus on protecting citizens rather than pursuing political vendettas.
“Law enforcement must prioritize public safety, not political retaliation,” she emphasized.
YSRCP’s Commitment to Justice
Rambabu and Kalyani reaffirmed YSRCP’s commitment to fighting for justice. Rambabu warned that biased police actions would lead to consequences, and private cases have already been filed across various locations.
The party remains firm in demanding accountability and ensuring safety in Andhra Pradesh. By addressing the dual issues of defamatory online posts and women’s security, the YSRCP is determined to uphold justice and public welfare in the state.
